Almost every one of our clients has bad, really bad credit, or no credit at all. This is why they are our client and not a client of the bank or mortgage company. We work outside the normal credit requirements and don’t penalize you for things that happened in your past. Phase 1 of our program is our alternative credit qualification – YOUR CREDIT SCORE DOESN’T MATTER!
Easy Approval
We don’t use an underwriting department that is in some other part of the country or require an endless number of documents with your application. 
Once you submit your Application Information and Client Information Form, you will be notified of your approval within 24 hours. Nice Homes in Nice Neighborhoods
We pride ourselves on having homes available that we would want to live in ourselves. Every home available has been cleaned, inspected, and made-ready for you to move in. All aspects of the home are checked and guaranteed to be working (unless you are participating in our Work for Equity Program). We want you to be proud to call your new house your home.
Fair Prices & Monthly Payments
We don’t have appraisers or mortgage professionals in our pockets and we don’t falsely inflate the appraisal of our houses; all houses are priced according to a fair market value.
In addition, your monthly house payment is a reflection of the value of the house, not some “pie-in-the-sky” number falsely inflated under the excuse of your bad credit. We do this because: 1) it is the right thing to do, and 2) once Phase 1 is complete, you can still afford your home in Phase 2 of our Steps to Homeownership Program.
Quick Move-In
Once you have been approved and you have found the home that is right for you, we can complete the necessary documents for move-in within 24 hours of your commitment. Not only that, but we understand how difficult moving can be and will work with you to help make the transition as easy as possible.

Life has a way of throwing things at us we don’t expect. At First Step Management we understand this and will work with you before you have found your home, when you are moving in, and after you have been a client for months or years.
Our managers are trained to be problem solvers and are equipped with options to make common home ownership problems disappear; allowing you to achieve the American dream of home ownership. We encourage every client to communicate with us at any time, especially if something comes up that is unexpected. Fees and penalties can be costly, for that reason, our managers have a degree of freedom to waive these costs for special circumstances.

Whether it is the first time you call the office or have been a client for years, we recognize your situation is unique to you. For that reason, we can customize our Steps to Homeownership Program to meet any special situation.
